Allison prefers to work with people in an ongoing way and finds this creates intention and momentum. Occasionally she is available for single sessions for $200. If you are a returning client you can message her here to see if she has availability for a single session. Every session includes an hour of dedicated study of your birth chart before we meet. The more specific you are with your questions and intentions, the more specific her study time can be.

Depending on your goals we can focus on:

•  Classical Indian music scales and exercises for voice and harmonium that will accelerate your progress and help your ear to become more finely tuned
• Mantra and Opening the Voice - Allison will incorporate Jyotish when needed
• Help you build your repertoire of kirtan chants and bhajans 
• Inspire you to write your own chants inside of Indian scales
• Work on a specific song you love that you need help figuring out how to play on the harmonium

Learn about and experience using a rāga (song) as a jyotiṣical upāya, or an astrological remedy. Allison has been researching nakṣatras (stars) and their connection to specific rāgas since 2015 and has found this remedy to be of great benefit to herself and her students. You will need to provide Allison with your birth date, place, and exact time.

In the temples of South India, rāgas sculpted on pillars identify their relationship to specific constellations called nakṣatras. The healing potential of a rāga is dependent on the presence of correct śruti’s, the specific microtones in between notes. The most important aspect of the practice is listening well. It is a meditation practice with sound.

This method of interfacing rāgas with a person’s natal birth chart comes from Allison’s nāda yoga mentor and sarod maestro K. Sridhar who descends from 20 generations of Jyotishi’s and 14 generations of temple musicians on his mother’s side. Allison is most grateful to K. Sridhar for his love and blessings.

• learning about the significance of the moon in your birth chart
• a curated listening practice
• learning the scale of the rāga
